What started out as a family farm in 2002 Elmwood Stables quickly developped into the operation it is today. Currently with 50+ head of horses. We have started around 100 colts ourselves so far. Trained with Ray Hunt, trained with Sheena Dunham the Canadian Cowboy Association Champion Barrel racer 2006 &2007, taken lessons from most of our local riding stables for years. We have studied the methods of Ray Hunt, Pat Parrelli, Peter Campbell, Buck Branhaman etc.. After all our studing and learning we have taken bits and pieces of the systems of breaking and riding horses we've seen and with our own twist developped the system we find to be so efficient today. Within the first five rides we throw all the gear off the horse's head and ride them bridaless, and guess what, the horses are fine and listen. If the horse isn't pressured into doing something and you let them take a minute to think, or present it in a way they understand you don't have to force the animal, they will want to do it for you .. becuase you are asking him as a friend. Control the life in the body, so then the mind gets it, when the mind understands, then the feet understand -Ray Hunt
